ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Patrick Bacon (TopDownHockey) started contributing to the public sphere of hockey analytics in late 2020, publishing articles on scorekeeper bias and its impact on RAPM/WAR metrics, before eventually building his own WAR and NHLe models. By writing in-depth explainer articles and being the only data scientist to make WAR free to the public, Patrick is dedicated to making hockey analytics more accessible for everybody.

JFresh is a hockey analyst and writer who has been making and publishing visualizations since 2020 with the aim of making complex data accessible and approachable. On social media, his Substack, and his column at EliteProspects he dives deeper into the numbers, bringing them into dialogue with the "eye test" and hoping to further understanding of players and teams in the public sphere.

At Hockey Stats, we're on a mission to provide the best metrics and visualizations in the public sphere of hockey analytics, with the aim of providing hockey fans approachable and accessible data. Through the JFreshHockey Patreon, we offer interactive Player Cards and dashboards that bridge the gap between complex numbers and clear visualization
