TEAM CARDS
The team cards display a team's ranking in many of the league's most important statistical categories.
- •
Standings Points: Where the team ranks in the league (out of 32) and in their division (out of 8) in terms of points percentage.
- •
5-on-5 Goals: Where the team ranks in terms of scoring and preventing 5-on-5 goals. Goal share is the team's share of 5-on-5 goals in their games - the higher they rank, the more they're outscoring opponents at 5-on-5.
- •
5-on-5 xGoals: Where the team ranks in terms of generating and preventing 5-on-5 expected goals. The expected goals model uses historical data to estimate how dangerous the shots a team creates and allows are, essentially showing how many goals the team is "expected" to have scored and surrendered based on shot quality for and against.
- •
PP and PK: Where the team ranks in Powerplay goals per 60 minutes and preventing Penalty Kill goals per 60 minutes.
- •
Finishing: Finishing takes the difference between actual goals and expected goals in all situations. A team that ranks highly in this category is scoring a lot of goals relative to the quality of shots they are generating.
- •
Goalie: Takes the difference between expected goals against and actual goals against in all situations. A team that ranks highly in this category is getting great goaltending, allowing fewer goals relative to the quality of shots they're giving up.
